Small Cell and Distributed Antennae Systems

When bandwidth service needs to be expanded beyond what traditional towers can provide, carriers depend on small cells and distributed antennae systems to fill the gaps. The idea behind Fibertech’s Small Cell and Distributed Antennae Systems is our ability to enhance your wireless coverage in areas that may be spotty or experience occasional high-bandwidth spikes. With fiber-optic network infrastructure already in place—owned, operated, and managed by us—we have the ability to build additional nodes on the network, as well as lease our infrastructure (dark fiber or lit services) to carriers if they wish to install their own nodes.

Small cell sites are popular because they provide a solution to increases in broadband traffic within areas that do not receive sufficient coverage from existing towers. However, the major difficulty that comes into play when installing them is that the right network infrastructure does not always exist in the required areas of coverage. To overcome this, a carrier must either build out its own network or contract with a company that already has the appropriate network infrastructure in place. Fibertech has built this existing infrastructure, along with securing utility agreements that enable us to extend to the carriers’ desired locations quickly and cost-effectively.

That is the key advantage of having Fibertech provide your small cell and antennae system deployment. With more than 8,000 route miles of both lit and dark fiber, and 12 years of experience building fiber-optic networks, we provide you with the knowledge and capabilities to ensure that your network is running where and when you need it.
