Boosting Both Mileage and Service Through Indy Expansion
Fibertech has experienced significant growth in the last year across all of its markets, but its most recent boost in mileage has occurred in the company’s most western market: Indianapolis, IN. Over the past several months, the company has built more than 50 miles of new fiber in the area, bringing its overall total to more than 310 company-owned and operated miles of fiber in the market.

The growth seen across the Fibertech footprint has been propelled by a variety of influences, including the growing bandwidth demand resulting from advancements in technology and companies having to transport larger volumes of data to multiple locations. In addition to data trends, local economic prosperity and business development have allowed Fibertech to expand its network in the Indianapolis market, helping to bring more buildings and organizations on-net.

With the infrastructure expansion, not only will the Indianapolis metro area continue to receive access to a diverse suite composed of optical bandwidth solutions and dark fiber connectivity, but service can now be obtained by communities such as Noblesville, Sheridan, and Westfield to support both the enterprise and carrier channels.

“The newly added infrastructure north of the city has enabled businesses in the healthcare, financial, educational, and government verticals, in addition to other mid-sized and large businesses, to access the value and dependability that Fibertech offers,” explained Pat Dolan, senior director of sales, Fibertech. “Indianapolis is quickly becoming an economic focal point and major business hub for technology-focused organizations, and it is a perfect fit for our service offerings. The security, flexibility, and reliability of our network allow us to provide the ideal solutions for businesses across all industries, especially those that demand a great deal of bandwidth to future-proof their networks.”

As a leading provider of metro-based fiber optic transport services, Fibertech is recognized for building diverse route, “open access” networks in a ring configuration that allows for carrier-grade diversity, redundancy, and resiliency. In Indianapolis, specifically, the company has 10 core rings that serve as paths connecting more than 160 on-net buildings, as well as numerous central offices, high-data aggregation points, and major data centers, including Lifeline Data Centers. This diverse network provided by Fibertech enables Indianapolis businesses to both strategically and cost-effectively connect multiple locations to one another through a high-performance solution customized to meet and exceed their business-critical IT and communication needs.
