Letter from the CEO
After another record year in 2011, we’ve continued our momentum well into 2012. With network expansions across our entire footprint, new products, and humbling recognition for our company, we are very pleased with the positive direction that we continue to move toward.
We are also fortunate to have Court Square Capital Partners as an investment firm that continues to believe in our mission and enables us to constantly improve and provide the great service that our employees strive for and our customers value. With the firm's support, this year we plan to invest more than $80 million in capital toward a number of projects, including further investment into the growth of our current network. This will allow us to expand our reach to more businesses with the addition of new service features such as IPv6 compatibility and additional wireless backhaul services to both tower and small cell sites. Evidence of this can be seen in our recent construction of new fiber in markets such as Connecticut and Indianapolis, which reflects the growth of our customer base in those areas.
Fibertech was also recognized recently as #11 in the 2012 Best Companies to Work For in New York State. The rankings were decided based on an anonymous employee-driven survey compiled by the Society for Human Resources Management, the Business Council of New York, and Best Companies Group. The survey ranked companies based on results evaluated by employee satisfaction, engagement, and workplace policies and practices. This is not only a great honor, but a validation of the changes we’ve made to improve our business and the commitment that everyone at Fibertech shares to provide you, our customers, with the best service possible.
As our company continues to evaluate new applications and add to our product mix—as well as enhance and expand our network—we also plan to continue to invest in our dedicated employees to further ensure that we continue to exceed all of the expectations that we set for ourselves.
